Rev Ludwig Scholl

Rev. Ludwig Scholl, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran from 1956 until 1963, was born in Montana, the eldest son of Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Scholl.

He spent ten years of his childhood in North Dakota, moving with his family in 1927 to Ellis, KS, where he graduated from a rural school. In 1929 he entered Hebron College and Academy in Hebron, NE, graduating in 1934. In the fall of 1934 he entered the junior class at Capitol University, Columbus, Ohio, receiving his BA degree in 1936. He graduated from Capitol University Seminary on June 12, 1939, and was ordained into the holy ministry on July 2, 1939, in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellis, Kansas.

Before coming to Coleridge in October 1956, Rev. Scholl served parishes in Superior, Denver, CO, and Goodland, KS. After moving from Coleridge he served Lutheran parishes at Kimball and Cozad, NE, and Lohman, Missouri. After retiring January 1, 1982, Pastor and Mrs. Scholl moved to Cedar Edge, Colorado where he served All Saints Lutheran Church at Austin,
Colorado on a part-time basis until moving to Loveland, Colorado, November 1987.

Ludwig Scholl was married to Helen Lehnert of Columbus, Ohio on June 14, 1939. They are the parents of two children, Mrs. Dan (Mary) Kock of Coleridge and John Scholl of Windom, Minnesota. At the present time, Rev. and Mrs. Scholl are living at the Good Samaritan Village in Windom, Minnesota after moving there in September 2004.
