A young man, Rev. Charles Brandt, came in 1884 and served the congregation for a year, living in Coleridge
and walking out to Lawn Ridge school house on Sunday. Services were held in the German language as the pioneers had all been born in Germany. After being here about a year, Rev. Brandt resigned and Rev. D. H. Franzen was called in 1886.
